Rosemary Seymour was interested in writing a book on women's history (see Seymour 67/1a-1b), but none eventuated. This material, along with that in Seymour 1, was probably collected partly with that in mind. The series includes material on witches and witchcraft, on various periods of history, and on New Zealand and the world. Some of the material was evidently originally used for Rosemary Seymour's doctoral thesis.
