The Committee to Oppose the Hospitals Amendment Bill was formed in 1974. Sharyn Cederman became its secretary. The Hospitals Amendment Bill sought to restrict the activities of abortion clinics in New Zealand, and this group was one of several which lobbied vigorously in opposition to the Bill.

These records were forwarded to Rosemary Seymour for the Women's Studies Resource Room, having been initially passed to the feminist magazine Broadsheet by Sharyn Cederman.
