The slide collection in the John Mansfield Thomson Archive spans a wide range of musical, artistic, and historical subjects, including extensive sets on Vauxhall Gardens, European music traditions, New Zealand music, German and French cultural history, music printing, and major exhibitions from the 19th and 20th centuries.
It also features substantial groups devoted to the engraver Jacques Callot, caricature across several centuries, Bayreuth in 1962, New Zealand figures such as Lilburn, Page, and Hill, and a variety of architectural, landscape, and miscellaneous topics.
