Collection comprises eight boxes of files, papers, correspondence, and photographs related to the Huntly Social and Economic Impact Monitoring Project run by the University of Waikato in the 1970s and 1980s. The project was run in conjunction with the Ministry of Works and Development, the New Zealand Electricity Department, and the Huntly Borough Council. It's focus was to monitor the social and economic impacts of a major industrial project, the Huntly Power Station.

The project was led by T.W. Fookes, Senior Lecturer in Geography at the University of Waikato. The University of Waikato Library also holds copies of the final reports.
