Socialist Action was the fortnightly bulletin of revolutionary Marxism published by the New Zealand Socialist Action League.
The Socialist Action League (now the Communist League) was founded in 1969 by students from Victoria University of Wellington and described itself as "an organisation of Marxist-Leninists in New Zealand who support the Fourth International, founded in 1938 by L eon Trotsky". In the late 1980s, the League broke away from the Fourth International and renamed itself the Communist League.
Socialist Action was first published in 1969 and contained articles of comment on current events, political analysis, and information about events of general interest to the Left.
Note: Issue for Friday April 3, 1970 incorrectly published as Vol 2, no. 4 when it should be Vol. 2, no. 5.
