Desperate Dan Collection

Desperate Dan was an irregular news sheet produced at the University of Waikato in the 1970s through to the early 80's.

Its tone was satirical as it lampooned and drew attention to the actions and policies of the Vice-chancellor and the University Council of the time. Issues of the sheet would mysteriously appear and authorship was anonymous.

The title derives from a character in the British children’s paper, The Dandy. As the Vice-chancellor was Don Llewellyn, it may have been a pun as Desperate Don.
